A wonderfully sweet Colombian coffee, perfectly roasted to bring out the dance between fruit and chocolate. Juicy and vibrant to the end. Sip happy!

Kuma Coffee Story

La Caldera is a blend from small producers who grow their beans in the volcanic soil of Narino. Complex, dynamic, and bright, this coffee reminds us of fresh Pacific Northwest berries and cream, panela, plum, and apple. A prize.

"Agree with others who noticed the fruit over the chocolate and caramel. It was an okay cup of coffee, but not our favorite." (3 out of 5)

"I enjoyed this lighter roast. The flavors were not over powering and did not leave a bitter taste." (4 out of 5)

"Chemex brewed served black. My wife and I both did not enjoy this coffee much. We felt it tasted a bit acidic. Nothing about it gave us a wow factor. We did not taste caramel nor chocolate. A little bit of berry was present. " (1 out of 5)

"I made this with a pour-over. I couldn't detect a lot of the subtle chocolate or plum notes, but the coffee was still smooth and tasted okay." (3 out of 5)

"I was very excited to try this coffee since I prefer darker roasts and enjoy chocolate notes in my coffee. While this is one of the better light roasts I've had, the chocolate didn't really come through and the coffee didn't taste as I anticipated. Very smooth and bright, but not terribly complex." "Aeropress, served Black This had a nice chocolaty flavor when first cupped but as it cooled the coffee brightened into infinity. I was shocked. It was good coffee but I wouldn't order a bag of it." (3 out of 5)

"I was excited for the chocolate and caramel notes on a light roast because I usually find those more prevalent on a dark, but they never came! Heavy fruit notes that sit on the back of the tongue, but nothing else really comes out. Good coffee, not my favorite. Made with a french press." (3 out of 5)

"Very fruity notes definitely came through, but couldn't quite get any chocolate, which I think could've balanced it out nicely. A tad too sweet for me, but admittedly that's open to interpretation. The SO really enjoyed it!" (3 out of 5)

"La Caldera is a very light bean; I would recommend this to anyone looking for something fruity and not too strong. It has loads of flavour. " (4 out of 5)

"Surprised to find this lighter roast. I tend to go for medium or dark roasts so I was happy to find this coffee. Has sparked my interest in lighter roasts. " (5 out of 5)

"Nice balance of fruit and chocolate. Nothing really stands out on its own however. A good light roast. Chemex brewed." (4 out of 5)

"My favorite of the box, although I'm partial to lighter roasts and my box had a lot of dark roasts. I prepared this in a drip coffee maker and it was complex and sweet." (5 out of 5)

"My mid-range rating is purely based on my preference for dark roasts but as light roasts go this one was good. Very bright and complex. The apple and sugar notes definitely came through for me. Best as a pour over and I don't think it would stand up well to the addition of much milk or cream." (3 out of 5)

"I found it to be very bright and juicy, but not very complex. I was surprised by the flavor actually, I didn't get any chocolate notes. " (3 out of 5)

"I prepared this as a pour over using a V60. This is an interesting cup, very bright with a sweet finish. The plum and chocolate notes really come through. Tasty! " (4 out of 5)

"Delicious espresso single shot. Sweet and complex. Macchiato made with organic Othello milk was incredible. Will try a pour over as well. Would buy a bag. " (4 out of 5)
