The name and flavors of this washed Yirgacheffe reminds us of sakura, cherry blossoms. Delicate, rosy, and bright, this cup marries the boldness of black tea with plenty of juicy red fruit and just a hint of sunny citrus. We’re head over mugs.
If you look at some of our favorite coffees of all times over the past ten years many of them have come from Yirgacheffe. The Sakaro is a perfect example of what we look for in a Yirgacheffe coffee. Very bright, juicy, and complex with notes of red currant, raspberry, black tea, and bergamot.
"When I was grinding it, it smelled SUPER buttery and I got really excited, but when I tasted it...it just tasted flat. I definitely tasted the black tea flavor, but I was hoping for a more buttery flavor and not so much fruit. I'm just not a fan of fruity ones, I guess."
"I can't say this was a favorite of mine, yet I recognize the quality. This was definitely an issue of personal taste, but the tea like aspects of the coffee made it feel weak at times. It does have a nice complexity that many will enjoy, it simply wasn't for me."
"Delicious - could definitely taste the black tea and a little fruity flavor!"
"Definitely not a heavy beverage to drink in the morning. Love the black tea flavor."
