Strong yet delicate, this washed Yirgacheffe is our version of a classic car. The Z means “zero defect”, each bean hand-sorted for perfection. We taste gingered pear and a floral-honeycomb finish. Sweet body; smooth ride.
Delicious and tantalizing notes of apricot and ginger are joined by delicate hints of chamomile and lemon. Yirg-Z has a mouth-wateringly juicy body. Its sparkling acidity shines and carries all these wonderful elements through a wonderfully floral finish.
"Smooth as advertised, sweet and fruity. Light roast, another fun one from Beanbox!" (4 out of 5)
"not a "love" but a "like a lot" this was a rather light blend for my taste i guess. and i just wanted to love it more, but i didnt get all of the 'advertized' tea-type flavorings. but, that being said, it was a very smooth and enjoyable cup of coffee made in the french press. " (4 out of 5)
"Very light light coffee. Typically Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is one of our favorites from other roasters, this particular coffee was a little to light with very subtle flavors. Definitely bright like many African coffees but not very bold. " (3 out of 5)
"Those that said there were acidic notes were right. The floral comes through as well, which made it enjoyable. " (4 out of 5)
"I saved this sampler for last to try because I thought the flavor description (combo) seemed strange. I can’t say I tasted those “notes” or flavors, but it was a light, smooth easy to drink cup of coffee. I really liked this one! " (5 out of 5)
"was ok i got a pretty acidic flavor also some sour notes" (3 out of 5)
"Not my favorite but would be good for those who enjoy the acidic kinds of coffees with the floral hints. I prefer other types but not terrible." (2 out of 5)
