Fulfilment by Day, Circus Dragon by Night • Seattle, WA
Mornings can be simple, even though you spent the night in the circus.
§ What time do you get to sleep? What time do you wake up?
I try to get to bed early so I can wake up early. I recently moved to West Seattle so Im still adjusting to my new bus schedule. I tend to pass out by 10:30pm if I took any circus classes and attempt to wake up at 6am. I try not to hit the snooze button too much.
§ What do you dream about?
All sorts of things! Circus acts, festivals, places that I'd love to go to, my grandparents house, and sometimes my dreams turn into action movies. Car chases, explosions, and everything.
§ What’s the first thing you do once you’re awake?
Play music to motivate me to move and message my boyfriend who is currently traveling the globe.
§ What morning ritual do you have that’s sacred to starting your day off right?
I like to wear hair flowers that I make myself. Ive been making hair accessories since i was 12. Every morning I look at my collection and try to pick one that fits my mood. My current favorite is a pink flower with a soda cap in the center.
§ What one possession/object is essential to your morning?
My phone for music and updating me on the bus schedule. Even though the bus is always late or super early.
§ With whom do you spend your mornings?
Right now, myself. Occasionally I get to talk to my boyfriend on the phone. That always brightens my morning. And my lovely coworkers.
§ What do you eat for breakfast?
Oatmeal with honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg. If I have fruit, I'll bury the oatmeal with it.
§ What kind of coffee do you drink in the morning, and how do you prepare it?
Still trying to figure out my favorites, it's hard when your tastebuds are burnt from eating fire! I love medium roasts and coffees with sweeter notes. I have a French press at home or I'll use a Chemex at work.
§ What’s the one upgrade you wish you could add to your morning?
I try to wake up early to do yoga and stretching but it's hard when you're already super sore and love to hit the snooze button.
§ What do you consider the end of your morning?
When it's time for lunch.
