Wow, what a delicious cup of coffee. I absolutely enjoyed it and may be the best coffee I've ever had. It was surprisingly bold, coconut came all the way through and it finished with the refreshing and sweet taste of tropical lakoli. Brewed on a French Press with filtered water and two mesh screens
Easy to see why this one sold out so fast, it's an exceptional coffee. The light floral and tropical notes with a soft earthy and light caramel smoothness make this one of the best I've tasted. I wasn't sure if I'd like this coffee when I read the description, but it is amazing.
Fantastic coffee. I do not usually drink my coffee black but this one I would. It is smooth and tasty with no bitter aftertaste. I put a little almond creamer in it and it is one of my new favorite coffees. Perfect to start the day with. I am excited to try this as an iced coffee.
Great flavor, especially considering it's a decaf blend which can sometimes lack in the flavor area. Not acidic at all. Coffee is smooth drinking and stays low to the ground. I could taste the chocolate notes in the body very well.
You can never go wrong with anything from Slate. Everything they touch is liquid gold! Brew this with anything and you will love it. Bright and fruity but not too much on the front end like most Ethiopians. Very smooth finish.
One of the best medium roast coffees I have come across. The flavor is nice and mild, not overly oily or burnt. Perfect morning cup of coffee. Brewed with french press, the coffee gets a nice head and amber color.
Out of the 14+ different coffee brands and roasts I have tried, this is my favorite. Not acidic and stays low to the ground. Not overly flavorful but still has enough flavor to keep you interested. Nice, smooth cup of coffee.
This coffee is absolutely fabulous. Very smooth with wonderful tasting hints of chocolate and light fruit flavors. Not heavy at all, easy to drink and love how it has a chocolate taste at first, followed by the notes of mild peaches.
Initially I wasn't so sure about this coffee just on smell alone after it brewed. BUT I AM NOW POSITIVE this is delicious, light roast coffee that is smooth and very easy to drink. A definite favorite!
Delicious coffee with great flavors. Made this in the Chemex and it was so smooth - also made a tasty iced coffee too. Tend to love dark roasts with chocolate, this one was yummy! Definitely recommend.
This is one of my favorite coffees. If you pour it perfectly, it really tastes like a strawberry. If you are not a fan of fruity coffees however, you will definitely not like this one. Highly recommended!
This coffee is a definite new favorite for me. It's a nice medium dark roast with a good mouth feel and the tart of cherries at the end. I'm very much a sweetened, milky coffee drinker, but I can happily drink this black. It has a lot of flavor. Smokey amaretto with a natural sweetness.
My wife and I very much enjoyed this dark roast coffee. We were gifted a monthly sampler package and prefer dark roast coffee so we were very happy to receive this option. Very good with tasting notes true to taste. We would buy again.
This may be my favorite coffee that I've gotten from Bean Box! It is mellow but robust; very easy to drink and comforting. Definitely pick up on the nutty and spice notes but neither are too overwhelming or distinct.
Beans are dark, oily, and very forward with the aroma of smoke. Made this in a drip coffee maker and it made a very interesting and delicious cup of coffee, with the smoke still coming through after brewing. Can stand up to some cream and sugar, as well.
This is my second 4.9/5 I've ever gotten from beanbox -- absolutely fantastic. Initially has smooth, prevalent notes of dark chocolate that blends into a bright (moderately tart) peach / plum body (marginally heavier than an Ethiopian). Finish: honey, chocolate, orange. Fantastic. Trust me on this.
This coffee was incredible! I truly loved this cup of coffee. It is so mellow, yet dark and bold at the same time. It is smooth with sweetness and no tartness. Very rich and gourmand like. A great cup-o-joe! This was among some of the best coffee I have sampled.
If you want a good cup of coffee in the Morning. This is it! In French press, in Mokka pot, just in a cup it will be delicious. Who like to drink coffee with milk, also try this coffee. Taste of caramel and choco is perfect!
One of the first coffees in the first bean box gift subscription we received at Christmas. This coffee is the primary reason I can no longer buy coffee at the grocery, the wife turns her nose up at anything else. She loves it.
Hands down the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. Brewed in a French press. Just a hint of sweet coconut with a smooth, slightly nutty flavor... perfect. I have to resist brewing another cup later in the day!
I loved this coffee, especially in the evenings. I mainly brewed it in a French press, although I imagine it would be great as a pour over too. The cherry notes were wonderful as the coffee cooled but what I liked the most was that it wasn't overpowering and was balanced by the toffee notes.
Really liked this coffee. As a lover of acidic coffees, I thought this coffee had a nice acidic profile, without be overly powerful. Has some very nice vanilla and caramel tones. Did not think it was too fruity. Would definitely buy a whole bag!
I love this blend. I prefer a medium to dark roast. And I think this hit the mark on the darker side. I brewed it using a pour over which I think really gives a full bodied flavor. Overall, I was satisfied and think it is rightly classified (definitely not a light to medium blend).
Wonderfully complex roast -- I'm catching notes of fruit and chocolate. The melon flavor is surprisingly apparent, and has never tasted this great coupled with chocolate. As this roast cools, it becomes more and more savory (though acidic) over time.
Drinks like a $20 bag of coffee, for $16.
Holy body! This blend is practically FILLED with pronounced notes of dark (bakers?) chocolate. Thick, slightly creamy, and deceptively dark. Bold, but not burnt. I'm catching hints of molasses as the coffee cools - it seems to brighten up slightly as time goes on. Is that a hint of tobacco..?
This is one of our family favorites! It definitely doesn't have the flavor of a dark roast, but it is fabulous none the less. You have to hunt for the tasting notes, but that is how we like it...coffee first and the tasting notes as hints of flavor.
I really like the coffee that this company produces. This coffee was excellent. I wasn't quite sure what a coffee with a cherry cola taste would be like, but it was really great. Could definitely taste that cherry cola like taste, and a totally smooth and light coffee. Truly excellent.
"Aromatic strawberry bomb" is exactly right. Expect the coffee to taste like deliciously tart fruit jam while it's hot, and as it cools for it to open up into a sweeter more syrupy fruit flavor. It's a fantastic light roast, a perfect expression of modern coffee, and is great on Aeropress and V60.
