Fun story: this third-generation coffee farm was founded by Ethiopia’s first female WWII pilot. Today the farm is still 70% women. In this washed cup from the “Beriti Baron”, you’ll taste mango syrup, light florals, a squeeze of lemon. It’s aces!
This coffee from METAD is a third generation family owned business with a rich history that began after World War II when the Ethiopian Emperor awarded Muluemebet Emiru, the first African female pilot and family matriarch, with land in the Guji and Sidama zones. This would become the Hambela Coffee Estate. Aman Adinew, after working abroad many years, came back to make a difference for his family and community. His farm encourages women in the workforce, provides university scholarships, and houses a state of the art elementary school with more than 700 students.

"Easy to see why this one sold out so fast, it's an exceptional coffee. The light floral and tropical notes with a soft earthy and light caramel smoothness make this one of the best I've tasted. I wasn't sure if I'd like this coffee when I read the description, but it is amazing. " (5 out of 5)
"I really loved this light roast. Very fruity and light flavored. I could almost drink this black. Would buy again. " (5 out of 5)
"Initially I wasn't so sure about this coffee just on smell alone after it brewed. BUT I AM NOW POSITIVE this is delicious, light roast coffee that is smooth and very easy to drink. A definite favorite! " (5 out of 5)
"A great, typical Yirgacheffe. Toasted Lemon with the essence of Bergamot, Mango and a floral backdrop. Exceptionally light body and mouthfeel. A great, very tea-like coffee that's super easy to drink. Yirgacheffes are always a pleasure -- I only wish it were a little more distinct! 4.3/5" (4 out of 5)
